The steel beam connects to the column flange on its strong axis using a combination of complete joint penetration welds and bolted shear tabs. Stiffener plates match the thickness of the larger beam flange and are welded top and bottom with complete joint penetration welds. A shear plate is welded to the column flange and bolted to the beam web with standard bolt spacing. Fillet welds and bolt sizes are sized per schedule.
