A structural steel braced frame connection frames a beam and brace into an HSS column at a common working point. The hollow structural section column is capped with a one-quarter-inch cap plate secured by a one-eighth-inch perimeter fillet weld. A three-eighth-inch connection plate with standard holes connects the beam, sized per the framing elevation, with equal spacing. The diagonal brace intersects the node at a four-inch offset from the beam centerline.
