Steel beams connect to a steel column using bolted shear tabs welded with quarter-inch fillets at exterior perimeter beams. A half-inch cap plate tops the column per the column schedule. Web stiffeners are welded to the column web to reinforce the connection points. A metal roof deck bears across the top flanges of the framing.
