A guide rail support hollow structural section post connects below a wide-flange beam using angle brackets sized L6x4x3/8 on each side of the structural steel tube, secured with 7/8-inch diameter high-strength bolts with vertical slotted holes centered on the tube. The wide-flange beam features full-depth stiffener plates measuring 3/8-inch minimum thickness per sheet 13/S6.1, welded with typical 1/4-inch fillet welds on near side and far side. The assembly supports either a roof metal deck or concrete fill over metal deck per plan.
