A structural wall terminates below a post-tensioned concrete slab or beam with a typical top-of-wall gap. An embed plate measuring three-eighths by fourteen inches by one foot six inches is anchored into the underside with four three-quarter-inch diameter by four-inch headed studs. Structural angles measuring four by three by five-sixteenths inches with long leg vertical and a length of one foot are welded on each side with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. A bond beam supports the upper masonry courses beneath the embedment assembly. At the contractor's option, this detail may also be used at mild concrete slabs or beams.
