A continuous masonry wall runs parallel to a wide-flange beam supporting a concrete slab on a steel deck. The masonry wall includes a bond beam and connects to the floor structure using bent plates measuring 4 inches by 5/16 inches by 1 foot 3 inches wide, equipped with vertical laminated strand lumber and two 1/2-inch diameter anchor rods spaced at 12 inches on center grouted in the cell. Two 5/8-inch diameter threaded studs at 9-inch gauge are welded to the bottom flange of the steel beam, featuring a horizontal laminated strand lumber parallel to the wall in an angle at the connection to the underside of the beam, with finger-tight nuts and peened threads to prevent loosening. A diagonal brace is provided at each bent plate, with reference made to a typical CMU brace to the underside of the concrete on steel deck.
