An HSS girt passes a structural steel column with differing sizes using a connection plate and an L8x6x1/2 angle fitted with two three-eighths inch stiffener plates. A half-inch plate measuring six by six inches ties into the assembly alongside erection bolts provided at the general contractor's option. Five-sixteenths inch and one-quarter inch fillet welds secure the connection on three sides typical. Half-inch stiffeners align with the plate and the horizontal leg of the angle.
