These structural steel details illustrate top, intermediate, and bottom conditions for column bearing plates intersecting beams. The assembly incorporates full height three-eighths-inch stiffener plates on each side of the beam web, connected with quarter-inch fillet welds and five-sixteenths-inch welds where plate or web thickness exceeds three-quarters of an inch. The bearing plate matches the beam flange thickness with a one-half-inch minimum, secured by four total three-quarter-inch-diameter A325-N bolts with typical edge distances of one and one-half inches and two inches.
