A structural steel beam frames into a column using a bolted shear plate with a two-inch typical clearance. A diagonal brace connects to the column and beam intersection through a gusset plate designed with deferred welding requirements. The work point of the connection aligns with the centerlines of the column, beam, and brace. A similar connection is indicated for use at sloped beams.
