The steel column is supported by a base plate set on two inches of non-shrink grout over a concrete footing. A shear lug is embedded into the footing, with hooked reinforcing bars provided at the lug and additional reinforcing bars installed for each interrupted bar in each direction. The adjacent tilt-up panel is separated from the footing by one inch of shim and grout. A three-eighths-inch continuous expansion joint material is placed at the blockout between the steel column and the slab-on-grade. The slab-on-grade is shown adjacent to the column, with the slab-on-grade omitted in the detail for clarity.
