A structural steel channel connects to the web of a wide flange beam using a welded shear plate. The shear plate has a thickness "T" per schedule and is welded to the beam web with a weld size "S" on two sides per schedule. The channel is fastened to the shear plate using five-eighths-inch diameter machine bolts in a quantity "Q" as specified in the schedule. The wide flange beam size is sized per plan, and the channel is detailed per plan and details.
