A steel column is anchored to a concrete wall using a base plate secured by four 1-1/2-inch diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor rods with 1/2-inch by 3-1/2-inch square plate washers in standard holes sized per AISC recommendations. The column flanges are connected with complete joint penetration welds per AWS D1.8 seismic provisions, and the web is connected with 5/16-inch fillet welds.
