A column splice joins steel columns of different sizes with mill-finished column ends. The upper column transitions into the larger lower column with a one-fourth inch minimum gap. Welding details are referenced to Detail A or B as noted. Dimensions indicate typical clearances of three feet six inches and four feet six inches unless otherwise noted.
