An HSS16x4 hollow structural section beam connects to a wide flange girder per plan using a welded end plate detail. A one-quarter-inch thick end plate is welded to the end of the hollow structural section beam. The assembly is secured to the wide flange girder web using six seven-eighths-inch diameter A325N bolts arranged in a vertical pattern. Bolt spacing measures four inches vertically with a one-and-one-half-inch typical edge distance, and the plate width spans ten inches with a total vertical height of sixteen and three-quarters inches.
