A concrete slab construction joint features a keyway depth equal to half the slab thickness, typically spaced with six-inch minimum dimensions and thirty-inch maximum intervals. All slab reinforcement must extend continuously through the joint. Alternatively, the entire surface may be intentionally roughened at the contractor's option.
