The steel column is secured to a concrete pedestal via a base plate sized per schedule, with the column flanges and web connected to the base plate using complete joint penetration demand critical welds. A gusset plate for a buckling restrained brace is welded to the column and base plate per manufacturer specifications. The assembly utilizes anchor bolts with three-quarter-inch by four-inch square plate washers and standard holes, maintaining an eight-inch maximum projection above the two-inch non-shrink grout layer. The concrete pedestal includes a shear lug per detail 4/B111.S7.212, with anchor bolt reinforcement consisting of three number five hoop ties at one-inch on-center in the top five inches of concrete, and number five hoop ties at twelve-inch on-center spacing. The footing below contains number four hoop ties around the anchor reinforcement at the top and bottom, with additional anchor reinforcing bars as specified in the schedule.
