This moment connection joins a wide flange beam to a wide flange column using three-quarter-inch thick full-depth flange plates and a half-inch thick full-depth web plate. The flange plates are connected to the column web and flanges using complete joint penetration welds with backgouging on all sides. The beam flanges are connected to the flange plates with complete joint penetration welds and backgouging. The web plate is welded to the beam web and the column flange using five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on all sides.
