An HSS 6x6x1/4 ladder column supports an open web steel joist carrying a metal roof deck. Diagonal angle braces of L3x3x1/4 size intersect the assembly, with two L3x3x1/4 angles placed on each side. Welds are specified as three-sixteenths inch fillet welds on three sides where indicated, while the column is left unwelded to the angle.
