A buckling restrained brace connects to a foundation and vertical column through a Grade 50 gusset plate and attachment designed by the brace manufacturer. The gusset plate features a three-quarter-inch snip or radius typical at corners and is left unwelded for a three-quarter-inch distance. Base plate thickness and its connection to the foundation are per frame elevations. The welded or bolted connection details are designed by the buckling restrained brace manufacturer and provided for reference only.
