This structural plan detail shows a hollow structural section column welded to a steel base plate resting over a 1 1/2-inch layer of flowable non-shrink grout. The base plate is secured by four 3/4-inch diameter by 1 foot 6 inch long ASTM F1554 Grade 36 anchor rods with double nuts and ASTM F844 washers provided above and below the base. Each anchor rod passes through a 1 1/16-inch diameter hole in the plate. Plate dimensions and welding requirements are referenced to drawing C/S5.3.1.
