An exterior kicker brace connects to the web of a structural steel beam supporting a concrete slab over metal floor deck. A three-eighths-inch by five-inch square plate is welded to each side of the kicker brace with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld. The plate assembly is welded to the steel beam web with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld.
