A continuous track or angle per section caps the cold-formed steel framing at 4-foot-0-inch on-center spacing. Diagonal angle braces measuring 2 x 2 x 54-mil are spaced at 4-foot-0-inch on-center and fastened with number 8 screws at each stud and three number 8 screws at the ends. A continuous 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 33-mil angle runs along the bottom, fastened with number 8 screws at each leg or track per section. Brace ends align with kicker locations. Fasteners may be backscrewed from the opposite side where access is restricted, and bracing is not required where studs are sheathed full-height on at least one side.
