A recessed linear light fixture is integrated into a standard ceiling assembly consisting of five-eighths-inch gypsum wallboard secured to a drywall suspension system. The entire assembly is hung from the overhead structure using twelve-gauge suspension wires. Stabilizer angles attach to the grid to maintain alignment, and the light fixture and its housing are independently supported from the structure above.
