For one hundred thirty-five-degree hooks, the extension requires six bar diameters or a minimum of two and one-half inches. For ninety-degree hooks on number five bars and smaller, the extension requires six bar diameters or two and one-half inches minimum, while number six bars and larger require twelve bar diameters.
