This assembly features a vertical hollow structural section (HSS) 2x2x1/4 member spaced at 4'-0" on center maximum, supporting a 1/2"x2"x0'-2" A572-50 steel plate at the top. The vertical HSS is welded to the primary HSS member per plan with a 3/16" fillet weld and a 1/8" fillet weld. A continuous L4x3x1/4 angle provides a 2" bearing surface for the metal deck, which is welded to the HSS with 5/16" fillet welds at 3" on center, 12" long. Cold-formed steel framing is provided by others, with the arch assembly extending up to 2'-0" maximum height and 1'-0" maximum width per arch.
