A wide-flange beam sized per plan connects to an HSS 14x10 column using a three-quarter-inch by ten-inch by one-foot four-inch centered plate. The plate attaches to the hollow structural section column with a five-eighths-inch weld at the top and bottom. The wide-flange beam web connects to the plate with a three-eighths-inch fillet weld, and the flanges connect with a quarter-inch fillet weld.
