A steel column base plate is positioned inside a concrete footing pocket, surrounded by control joints or construction joints located per drawings. The column base plate and anchor bolts are sized per plan, with infill concrete scheduled to be cast after the column base plate has been fully grouted. A typical six-inch minimum dimension and two-inch clearance are maintained at the pocket perimeter. Reinforcement consists of number four trim bars centered typically around the assembly.
