A structural steel connection features a transverse wide-flange beam supporting a bare metal deck and roofing assembly, with a continuous one-quarter-inch bent plate attached via three-sixteenths fillet welds. Shear studs are specified as three-quarter-inch diameter welded headed studs by Nelson Type S3L per ICC ESR-2856, with spacing limited to a maximum of twelve inches on center and restricted from protected zones of special seismic-force-resisting system beams. A structural angle measuring two and one-half by two and one-half by one-quarter inches is spaced at four feet on center maximum along the assembly. Full-height plates acting as typical stiffener plates are welded to the transverse beam per plan.
