A buckling-restrained brace connects to a wide flange column and intersecting beam assembly using welded gusset plates and bolted connections. The centerlines of the column, beam, and brace intersect at a common work point. Gusset plates are welded to the structural members to transfer lateral loads into the seismic force-resisting system.
