Concrete slab construction joints utilize PNA diamond dowels or round dowels spaced at twenty-four inches on center. For slabs with a thickness of five or six inches, one-quarter by four-and-one-half-inch PNA diamond dowels are specified, while seven or eight-inch slabs require three-eighths by four-and-one-half-inch diamond dowels. Alternatively, round dowels measuring five-eighths by twelve inches or three-quarters by twelve inches are used depending on slab thickness, with the exposed side lightly greased. Additional reinforcement includes number three rebar by thirty-six inches long at twenty-four inches on center.
