An eight-inch concrete masonry unit wall is supported by a concrete slab with a maximum height of three feet six inches, carrying a stud wall above. The CMU cells are partially grouted every other cell with number five vertical bars at sixteen inches on center and number four horizontal bars at twenty-four inches on center, supplemented by two number four top bars. Number five dowels with alternate hooks tie the masonry into the slab, where three continuous number five bottom bars run under the wall. Typical slab reinforcement is sized per plan.
