A W14 steel column connects to continuous frame beams and buckling-restrained braces using shop-applied and field-welded assemblies. Three-eighths-inch gusset plates connect the buckling-restrained braces using five seven-eighths-inch diameter A325 slip-critical bolts. One-quarter-inch full-depth stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column web aligned with the beam flanges using five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds on three sides. A beam stub matching the frame beam size is shop-applied and welded all around with a five-sixteenths-inch fillet weld.
