An HSS8x4 hollow structural section serves as the elevator separator tube and connects to the face of the reinforced concrete elevator pit wall. Two L3 1/2x3 1/2x3/8 structural steel angles are welded to each side of the HSS member with 3/16-inch fillet welds. Four total 3/4-inch diameter expansion anchors secure the assembly to the concrete wall. The concrete reinforcing bars are omitted from the view for clarity.
