A steel column bears onto a five-eighths inch thick bearing plate supported by a one-inch layer of non-shrink grout above the top of the concrete slab. Four five-eighths inch diameter anchor bolts embed a minimum of seven inches into the foundation. The base plate features half-inch oversized holes with plate washers. Welds connect the steel column to the base plate using three-sixteenths inch fillet welds. Both typical interior base plate and corner bearing plate configurations are detailed with edge clearances and bolt spacings.
