A concrete slab-on-grade bears on a concrete foundation wall with a three-inch minimum cover over the reinforcing steel. Vertical and horizontal wall reinforcement consists of standard rebar, tied into dowels that match the vertical wall reinforcement from above. The slab contains number four reinforcing bars spaced at sixteen inches on center. An embedded structural steel angle, sized eight by four by one-half inches by ten inches long, anchors into the assembly using two three-quarter-inch by six-inch heavy stud anchors and two one-half-inch diameter by six-inch dowel bars. The cold joint between the concrete pours features a one-quarter-inch roughened surface.
