A braced frame beam connects to a column using a gusset plate sized per the structural drawings. The beam member connects via a three-eighths-inch minimum plate with three erection bolts as required. Complete joint penetration welds secure the web and top and bottom flanges to the plate. A thirty degree plus or minus ten degree angle requirement governs the geometry, maintaining specified one-inch and two-inch minimum clearances.
