An angle brace formed from an L3x3x3/16 structural steel section connects parallel to the underside of the roof deck. The angle is fastened using two rows of three number 14 self-tapping sheet metal screws for a total of six fasteners. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld with a length of one and one-half inches connects the brace member to the assembly.
