Wide-flange beams frame into a wide-flange column utilizing web connection plates sized per plan. Column stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column web with five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds, with plate thickness equal to the larger of the connecting beam flange thicknesses. Beam top and bottom flanges are welded to the column flanges with complete-joint-penetration groove welds. A one-and-a-half-inch typical clearance is maintained at the beam-to-column interface.
