A structural steel column is encased in concrete and mounted on a base plate sized per plan, with reinforcing steel arranged around the column profile. A weldable coupler is attached to the base plate and adjusted to avoid conflict with anchor bolts. Framing beams connect per plan relative to the column and encasement profile.
