A hollow structural section is centered on a wide flange beam sized per plan and welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld. Cold-formed steel tracks are secured to the hollow structural section with one-eighth-inch fillet welds, with splices restricted to occur only at the hollow structural section. A metal stud wall connects below, framing into the support assembly per standard details.
