A stair landing connects to a shaped stringer using a shear tab welded to a channel stringer with quarter-inch fillet welds. The landing framing is sized per plan and supported by a wide-flange beam designated as Wx per plan. All welds are specified to be ground smooth to achieve an architecturally pleasing finish.
