A wide-flange beam connects to a hollow structural section hanger using a 1/2-inch by 7-inch by 1-foot-2-inch connection and cap plate fastened with four 5/8-inch diameter A325-N bolts at the usual beam gauge. The HSS6x4 hanger member welds to the supporting framing with 3/16-inch fillet welds on both sides. A horizontal HSS6x6 structural tube with a 3/8-inch end plate intersects the hanger, tied back using an L3 1/2x2 1/2x5/16 angle with two 5/8-inch diameter A325-N bolts spaced at 3 inches on center. A 3/16-inch fillet weld is applied on both sides typically at the angle and end plate connections.
