A non-frame pipe column base connection features a hollow structural section tube similar to the pipe column welded to a base plate using a minimum five-sixteenth-inch weld per American Welding Society standards. The base plate is anchored into a concrete pile cap using anchor bolts equipped with double nuts, hardened washers, and typical half-inch by four-inch square plate washers at the embedment level. A two-inch non-shrink grout layer sits below the base plate atop the pile cap. The foundation includes number four ties spaced at six inches on center with a minimum of three ties. A dedicated grout hole is provided on the base plate matching the anchor bolt hole size, and bolt edge distances are maintained at three inches minimum for column mark 3C9.
