Two aligned steel structural members connect end-to-end via a bolted web plate and welded top and bottom flange plates. A T1 web plate attaches to both beam webs using three rows of R1 bolts on each side. The top and bottom flanges are connected across the joint using plate elements welded with typical W1 welds. Field welding and bolted shear transfer configurations are detailed for continuous structural steel framing.
