Cold-formed metal studs and track are supported by MC6x18 channels spaced at four feet on center and located over the joist top chord panel point. The channels bear on the underlying joist and structural beam, with a one-and-a-half-inch roof deck adjacent. Connections include a quarter-inch fillet weld through the deck. The joist manufacturer must design the joist to support an additional concentrated allowable load of five hundred pounds.
