The roof deck terminates at a perimeter edge supported by a wide-flange beam and roof joist. A continuous one-quarter-inch thick bent plate or a one-quarter-inch angle is installed at the deck edge, with the specific profile sized at four inches as required. The bent plate is secured to the joist with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. The roof deck is attached per the roof deck schedule, with specific one-quarter-inch by two-inch welds at long-span joists and one-eighth-inch by two-inch welds at K-series joists. A one-and-a-half-inch clearance is maintained at the edge, as referenced by architectural drawings.
