A steel beam bears on a steel column fitted with a three-sixteenth-inch cap plate sealed with a continuous weld all-around. Two 6x6 by quarter-inch steel angles are secured to each side of the column using three-quarter-inch diameter machine bolts set in long-slotted holes with a three-quarter-inch gap. Three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds attach the connection components, with equal spacing configurations detailed on the assembly.
