This structural steel detail shows a framed beam-to-beam connection utilizing L5x3x1/2 double angles bolted to the web of a wide-flange supported beam and a wide-flange supporting column or beam. The angles are welded to the supporting member face with seven-sixteenths inch fillet welds featuring seven-eighths inch returns at the top. The supported beam web receives seven-eighths inch A325N bolts sized per Table D, with standard holes in the angles and beam on one side, and standard holes in the beam with short-slotted holes in the angles on the other. A half-inch typical clearance is maintained between the supported beam and the face of the supporting member.
