The hollow structural section column is anchored to a concrete pier via a 1 inch by 20 inch by 1 foot 8 inch base plate. The assembly is secured with four 1 inch diameter anchor bolts providing a minimum 12 inch embedment into the concrete. The column is connected to the base plate with a 1/4 inch fillet weld. The pier is positioned adjacent to a concrete tilt-up panel, with the column centered on the pier at a 13 inch offset from the pier edge.
