Horizontal reinforcing terminates with a standard 180-degree hook at vertical reinforcing within a concrete masonry unit wall. Space to accommodate the hook is limited, requiring the hook to be placed at an angle to fit in the cell and maintain three-quarters-inch coverage. The web of the block above may have to be cut to clear the assembly. Both single layer and double layer vertical reinforcing configurations are detailed.
